Official, Un-Official. That’s the best way to state our hypothesis…yes this guess is an educated guess but backed up with official information. A PDF file obtained earlier this morning could’nt be any fresher, coming straight from a female Ninja from the Mothership of a carrier itself folks.

The Bold is nearing its delayed launch date (lol it’s ok to laugh), and according to an internal PDF file the information suggest to an either early September 1’st launch date or to a Mid-September date being the latest! OMG YES YESS YESSS!

Ok, smiles, grin and tears of joy aside theres some fine print, yet another open possibility for a delay. This time it’s hinting at an October 31’st date :*( Lets hope for the worst but expect the best right!?

Back to the real story…

As reported, the Bold has been delayed a few times already. Delays date back to as early as july due in part to AT&T having software issues. Reported European and Canadian (Rogers Wireless) BlackBery Bold Builds are supposely working just fine, despite not yet officially launched thought.

My two cents in this whole delay would be to point the finger at AT&T for jamming so much of there brand software unto the phone, thus causing software issues and thereafter the delays!

Now don’t get us wrong, AT&T sure has outdone other carriers as fas as wireless features go, no contest. But the old saying goes, “How much is enough!?”.

We are betting on a September 1-15 launch.

BlackBerry Connect will no longer be updated for Nokia’s S60 devices, effective immediately. Just after a recent update was issued for the latest E90 firmware Nokia made the announcement and was hardly indirect with its reasoning for the move.

The website MobileToday.com is reporting that Nokia & RIM’s Blackberry brand have cut ties and won’t be bringing Blackberry Connect technology to the Nokia E71 and E66. In the article Mobile Today states,

Mobile can reveal that Nokia’s E71 and E66 phones will become the first Eseries devices that won’t house the popular BlackBerry Connect application, in a move designed to help Nokia reclaim its dominance of the business phone market.

I really see it the other way around. Blackberry Connect is one of the main selling points for their devices the fact that Nokia devices were compatible with this service made the Eseries a major player in the business phone market. Many corporations will not go any other route for their email service other than BB Connect.

Nokia UK MD Simon Ainslie told Mobile Today…

RIM are a competitor and have done a reasonable job in a space that is traditionally ours, so it’s no great surprise that we see this as an opportunity to give consumers a proper choice on what email solution they want.

Our approach is to make email a mass-market proposition for everybody, not just for the corporate boardroom group of individuals where BlackBerry has established itself.

Nokia better have something else up their sleeve. I’m not so sure this is gonna fly with alot of long time Blackberry Connect users.

The answer here is simple. No you cannot! Do not let someone tell you different (sales people). The MicroSD Memory Card you might have just purchased can only store media content. Pictures, Voicenotes, Videos, Wallpapers, Music, and thru third party applications (additional applications usually at a premium price) you can store applications themselves and run them off the MicroSD Card!

SanDisk MicroSD

For the average user a “Memory Chip” aka MicroSD Card is an invaluable tool towards enhancing there BlackBerry experience.

You or someone you know might have experienced sluggish, unwelcome performance issues with maybe a new or even older BlackBerry. Problem is here, as consumers ourselves….while thrying to “save a buck” and honestly be CHEAP we end up paying more!!

How so? You rather not purchase a MicroSD card at point of sale, then come across infinite problems shortly after with your BlackBerry! Erasing emails, erasing text messages sms, erasing call logs, rebooting (restarting), showing the hour glass (hourglassing) and other issues. Your BlackBerry is simply reacting to a shortage of memory!

Since you decided to not expand it’s already low memory, while taking “just a few” pictures, ringtones, and having “not so many emails or text messages” the BlackBerry device is left sucked up of all available Memory Resources.

How else would you expect it do react? Its like trying to cram 7 Gallons of water into a 1 Gallon Container!

So in conclusion, you cannot store contacts to a MicroSD Expandable Memory Card, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need one!

Thanks for reading folks! -

BlackBerry Tips and Tricks - Howto Fix a BlackBerry from Water and (or) Moisture Damage - Bowl of Rice Trick!

This is a cautionary tale. It involves a BlackBerry in a toilet, a roommate with a hair dryer, a bowl of uncooked rice and a date who almost got stood up. And it has a happy ending — sort of.

CLUNK!” does that sound sound like your beloved BlackBerry falling into water? Well well we have here a solution!

So first things first, you would have had to pull your BlackBerry out of danger (water) rather quickly. Then immediately pulled and taken the battery off. Make sure the battery is completely dry, now move unto the phone. Shake it vigorously now people, we need to get as much water out as fast as possible.

Start blowdrying the phone from every single angle as possible with the battery cover off of course, just so you can get every “nook and cranie”.

Ok pour some rice unto a bowl and let the BlackBerry rest for upto 3 days max. Rice is very absorbent! I’ve had people use it that same day but were experiencing issues, we want to avoid short circuiting and make the BlackBerry any worse then it is so for it to completely come back to life its best it hangs out with a bowl of rice for up to 3 days.

In conclusion, without a doubt if you followed these steps…you will, have your BlackBerry back….from its state of comma…lol…true story….cant make this up!

The research I’ve done thus far suggests it’s only a matter of time before it takes its last BlackBerry breath and expires. But the prospect of dishing out $450 for a new one has sustained my faith in the healing qualities of rice.
