AT&T Now Offering Wireless Phone Insurance Coverage for High-End Phones and PDAs Beginning June 2
Are you one of the many AT&T customers that has recently purchased a BlackBerry / PDA / Smartphone only to find out that you couldnt get it insured? Well if your one of the many that made a purchase on or after 5/02/08 than you might want to jump on this one. You can now enroll your BlackBerry into the insurance coverage plan, keep in mind you have up to 30 days to add this before you no longer become eligible. It’s still $4.99 a month and the one time deductible will run you $125 but when you lost your phone while traveling abroad or whatever the case might be a whole year and a half before your next “Upgrade” then this will certainly beat dishing out $400 for another new BB -
About The Wireless Phone Insurance Service
Wireless Phone Insurance offers customers protection against loss, theft, or accidental damage to their wireless device. Beginning June 2, 2008, Wireless Phone Insurance will expand its coverage to include all high-end phones and PDAs.
What is changing on June 2 with Wireless Phone Insurance?
- Wireless Phone Insurance eligibility is being extended include high-end phones and PDAs (except the Apple iPhone).

Depending on model, device deductibles will be in two tiers:
- Equipment Tier 1: $50 non-refundable deductible per approved claim.
- Equipment Tier 2: $125 non-refundable deductible per approved claim (for incident dates on/after November 3, 2008; $50 deductible for pre November 3, 2008 incident dates).
