what would you suggest I do if I have inserted the memory card properly, but the blackberry will not recognize the card saying that it is not formatted, and when I go to format it, the “format card” option isn’t even available in the Media Card Menu

    This sounds all to familiar.

    1. I realize you inserted the memory card properly, but check againg! Make sure it’s behind the slot hindges.

    2. At this point, unfortunetly 1 file type has gotten into the memory card that’s preventing the pc and(or) BlackBerry Device System from reading it!

    3. If you can, do backup your Media Files.

4.Format your MicroSD via a PC or Mac. Window Users: Under My Computer - Select the MicroSD Card and Right Click > Format. Mac Users: Under Drives - Select the MicroSD Drive > Open > hit the Mac button + A then Del.

    5. Back on The BlackBerry Device, Go back to Options > Media Card and your BlackBerry should recognize the MicroSD Card.

If at this point the BlackBerry Device is still not recognizing the MicroSD Card…Pull the Battery and restart. If you still have nothing, some how the MicroSD got fried! I’ve seen this once, and once only but its possible due to electro static frying stuff up!
