Can i get a blackberry pearl without a data plan would it be more expensive without it?

im going to get at&T
- $ERG!O G

Answer

It’s not required that you get the BlackBerry Internet feature, but do take in consideration that AT&T might offer you an instant discount plus a mail in rebate.

So the phone would technically be cheaper by $70 Dollars or so, or you can pay the extra $70 Dollars for not getting the BlackBerry Internet but save $30/month (plus tax) x 24 Month Contract = $720

Since you really seem like you don’t want the internet then save yourself $720 Dollars!

How to find the my stuff on blackberry?

because i download a ring tone and they said that i can see my ring tone that i download in my stuff on my blackberry. - albany B

Answer

From the main BlackBerry Home Screen you will want to navigate to the “Media” folder. This icon is usually depicted as a film reel with a music note to the right of it.

Highlight or “Scroll Over” it then press the Enter Key or the TrackBall or Trackwheel in.

Once in the Media folder you will want to Navigate to the Ringtones Folder. Once in the Ringtones folder navigate to the “My Ringtones” folder.

If you cannot find the ringtone you just download try backing out and choosing “All ringtones”, there might be a possibility that you saved it somewhere else other then the designated ringtones folder.

Againg if not in either of the two folders try backing out to the main Media folder and go into the Music folder. Should be the very first Icon to the Right.

If at that point you cant find it still, then at the Main Screen of the Media Folder; Music, Video, Ringtones, Pictures select the BlackBerry Menu Key (Key with the BlackBerry Logo usually left of the trackball/ or pushing in the trackwheel) and choose explore to dig around and explore the File system.

Good Hunting!

The answer here is simple. No you cannot! Do not let someone tell you different (sales people). The MicroSD Memory Card you might have just purchased can only store media content. Pictures, Voicenotes, Videos, Wallpapers, Music, and thru third party applications (additional applications usually at a premium price) you can store applications themselves and run them off the MicroSD Card!

SanDisk MicroSD

For the average user a “Memory Chip” aka MicroSD Card is an invaluable tool towards enhancing there BlackBerry experience.

You or someone you know might have experienced sluggish, unwelcome performance issues with maybe a new or even older BlackBerry. Problem is here, as consumers ourselves….while thrying to “save a buck” and honestly be CHEAP we end up paying more!!

How so? You rather not purchase a MicroSD card at point of sale, then come across infinite problems shortly after with your BlackBerry! Erasing emails, erasing text messages sms, erasing call logs, rebooting (restarting), showing the hour glass (hourglassing) and other issues. Your BlackBerry is simply reacting to a shortage of memory!

Since you decided to not expand it’s already low memory, while taking “just a few” pictures, ringtones, and having “not so many emails or text messages” the BlackBerry device is left sucked up of all available Memory Resources.

How else would you expect it do react? Its like trying to cram 7 Gallons of water into a 1 Gallon Container!

So in conclusion, you cannot store contacts to a MicroSD Expandable Memory Card, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need one!

Thanks for reading folks! -

Question: I have a BlackBerry Pearl that’s not so old, and it just started giving me a problem where the call logs is being deleted every so often and text messages sent to me arrive on the phone but are instantly deleted, leaving no record of them having arrived. Only for text messages but not Emails. Any Suggestions?

Pretty straight forward here Johnathan with your questions, your experiencing “Low Memory” issues. It appears that your completely out of space on both the Phone and SIM Card. Luckily these are problems that can be taken care of quite easily.

You see BlackBerry are like PC’s, mini PC’s. They need Memory in order to function properly and perform the most basic of tasks like example; making a call, or browsing the web. Now when the phone starts showing the Hour Glass, Running Extremely Slow, Deleting Email, Deleting Call Logs, Deleting SMS Text Messages, Constantly Restarting, its pretty much because its available Memory is all used up and the Phone is Reacting to the issue by finding ways to “Breath” againg and make Memory Resources Available by deleting those things.

What you need to do is extract and remove all the Media Files, Pictures, Ringtones, Music you loaded unto the Phone from the phone and either store them on your pc, and or purchase a MicroSD Memory Card to store those files on it.

If you decide to go with a MicroSD Memory Card Amazon.com is a Secured and Trusted Website to pick one up at.

Remember to move the Media Files onto the card as there taking up a very large amount of space on the phone. considering you got your pearl recently, i’d be safe to say you have and 8110, 8120 or 8130 model with the 2 megapixel camera which takes good quality photos which in term take up alot of space.

That should fix the deletion of Call Logs and or maybe the SMS Text messages.

To check how much space is available, while your phone is working well enough for you to try this (like after a battery pull), do (press menu key) > Options > Status. Read the value for File Free. Youll see what im talking about.

Here is a good article on freeing up space:
How Do I Free Up Memory for My BlackBerry Device?

As far as the SMS Text Messages (if it still keeps occuring) Check Out: SMS or MMS Inbox SIM Card Full Error
http://www.geekberry.net/archives/blackberry-tips-and-tricks/2008/06/12/blackberry-tips-and-tricks-sms-or-mms-inbox-sim-card-full-error/

Sounds like somehow SMS Text messaging is getting stored to the SIM Card, youll need to delete some saved SMS Text Messages if not all and change the settings where the SMS Text messages get stored on the phones memory, but first do free up the phones memory.

Thanks Jonathan for sending your question in, hope we helped DUDE!
