How to Guide on Transferring Files/Media via Bluetooth

In this guide we will be transferring files via Bluetooth (wireless). The majority of Desktop Computers or Laptop’s do not come with a built in Bluetooth Receiver, unless you bought a top-of-the-line Computer. So for this guide, you will need a Bluetooth adapter (shown below). We went ahead and provided a link to a very excellent Micro USB Adapter that meets our requirements of Performance and usability.

    Transfer between Devices:

  1. On the device that is going to receive the file: Navigate to the Media Folder
  2. Select the folder where you want to receive the file (Music, Video, Ringtones, Pictures)
  3. Select the sub-folder (Device Memory, Preloaded, Media Card)
  4. Press the “Menu” key
  5. Select “Receive Using Bluetooth”
  6. Send the file from the other device
  7. Accept the connection request and save the file

    Transfer From PC to Device (or vise versa)

  1. You must have a Bluetooth adapter or have Bluetooth built into the PC
  2. Pair the device with the PC
  3. Open the Desktop Manager Software
  4. Double Click the Blackberry Device Manager Properties icon (in the system tray next to the clock in windows)
  5. Select “Bluetooth Support and check the box…”
  6. Select “Configure Bluetooth”
  7. Select “Add”
  8. Add your device
  9. Go back into the Desktop Manager Software and select “Options” “Connection Settings”
  10. On the connection drop down box highlight Bluetooth and select “Enable Bluetooth support”
  11. Transfer the files from the device to the PC or vise versa
